There’s a book I read some time back called Ishmael by Daniel Quinn. It was recommended – maybe by Jack? I can’t remember now. But the biggest takeaway from the book is how often we are in complete believe of something based on a truth of a moment, of a certain time frame. Depends on how small the bubble we’re in, it can make us protective and defensive over it. Questioning the belief becomes a trigger factor. I’m sure we’ve all been there and done that. I’m sure we are all still in many other tiny bubbles that requires more perspective. According to the book, if we were to expand that horizon, our perspectives can change. But it requires genuine curiosity, always asking why, reading a lot, having people you can exchange the many different thoughts and ideas. I’ve learnt over time that change always starts with us. It’s often very humbling every time I read or figure something and realising how little I knew to begin it. I’ve been feeling like this a lot recently. I don’t know if others feel this way. I’ve been thinking about this book too these past few days.
