That’s fantastic. Best advice I can give is let them decide for themselves at a later age and discuss it with them. I think homeschooling in the early years is the really crucial period.

I got the socialization I needed through sports, Boy Scouts, etc. (my mom also helped found a small charter school).

I told my parents I wanted to try out public school when I was a teenager because I wanted to see how I measured up to other kids my age; they talked it through with me but ultimately said it was my decision.

I was worried I was somehow behind other kids, which in retrospect is quite hilarious.

Thanks for sharing. Even though our son has been excelling for years there is also a bit of concern are we doing the right thing so it is nice to hear from someone who went through the experience and benefitted from it.
