Cedar-quince rust (Gymnosporangium clavipes) growing on flowering quince fruits. The fungus infects rosaceous hosts in the first part of its life cycle and then jumps to Juniperus species to complete its life cycle. The form of the spore producing structures (telia) varies depending on the host. The bright orange spores resist UV and can travel long distances in the wind. #gymnosporangiumclavipes #cedarquincerust #dampcheetos #allthattherainpromisesandmore
