Yes. I got laid of a few weeks back for most ridiculous reasons I could imagine.
Anyway, not to worry, I already have a plan and a few offers in my pocket. I want to make sure I make the most of it. Definitely don’t want to end up in another corporate hellhole just for the “play it safe” policy.
Regarding copper - it’s beautiful, but very expensive and here in Czech it attracts lot of unwanted attention - there are gangs specialized in tearing them down in minutes.
And since this “shack” is only our summer retreat I didn’t want to spend like thousand bucks on gutters.
I feel you on getting laid off
I'm a carpenter in the field, it's cut throat. People get laid off left and right because the job is coming to an end and there's nothing else lined up. I had to switch between many different companies. I moved into a more stable "corporate safe" path now and it's been a lot less stressful
I'm glad you have something lined up and a few tricks up your sleeve. Just know I've been there and it sucks, hopefully we will retire in 10 years with our corn 😮💨😅
