For why? What possible reason do you have for not supporting that?

I honestly cannot think of any other than just stubbornness at this point.

I want to see how many nip05s an npub is rocking at a glance. Plus, this is also going to be necessary for further AUTH stuff in the future, so . . . we better get on it.

Several, actually. But the others are not ones you would come across. Eventually, I will have more that will be more widely known as some projects come to fruition in a few years times.
