'There is too much talk about Bitcoin on Nostr' is something that I'm sure everyone has heard by now. It's certainly been the critique that I have seen the most often in threads.

Bitcoin IS money, so the critique may be further reduced to 'There is too much talk about money on Nostr'.

This isn't much of a critique at all, the vast majority of accounts on 'traditional' social media is full of people fetishising money and it is never seen as a critique. To be specific I mean people posting pictures of them wearing expensive clothes or jewelery of driving flashy cars or showing of their mansion or whatever, or tastelessly fondling bundles of notes.

So if we do the old Scooby-doo mask reveal:

'There is too much talk about Bitcoin on Nostr, and that is a barrier to adoption'

becomes

'There is too much criticism of money on Nostr, and that is a barrier to adoption'

I'm not saying that the criticism isn't true, I just wonder if the latter phrasing of it is more honest.

Criticism of value, I'd claim, and it'd be a 'it is what it is' kind of question...

Afaik, blueskies and mastodons call out Nostr echoes tones, each since the comfort of their own chambers. Maybe it was ought to happen in terms of generational experiences of the internet.
