That's not true. If something will be taken away from you unless you give someone else money annually, you don't own it.

Would you say you own all the movies on netflix? Same thing.

Ownership is unconditional. And there are very few things you can truly own. A house in America is not one of them.

Legality is the weakest form of ownership. I could legally own 1/10,000th of apple in my brokerage account but what does that mean in reality? Jack shit.

Doesnt even have to be in a legal way. We all know if we are the rightful owner of something.

That definition is self referential. "Ownership means your an owner".

We don't have to agree. But there are fundamentals which are important. It's not just a word.

What if someone defined freedom as " the state or act of being free" lol. Not very useful.

Good point. To be honest I just copied the first definition I saw. I guess you can look up any definition on Ownership in a dictionary. Because thats all Im referring to. Paying taxes doesnt change the fact im the owner lol.
