On a side note, on Orion browser I do not seem to be able to search #tags. I type but nothing happen. I can click on the tags i see, and follow them, but not search them.

For the logo, the typeface does not work for me and the shadow is too far from character IMO.

The circle and 2 bolts works fairly well. I guess maybe the thickness of the thicker part of the bolt can be played with, and maybe the angle of both of them. Not so sure about that purple with those reds and blues and would try a cleaner circle, without “paint feeling”.

For the downzap, I like that it costs as much as an upzap but not that I get to pick where the sats go. I think #[6] was working on zap budgeting with automatic random distribution of leftovers. If I could load that budget with the downzaps and redistribute the stash to all my upzap daily, weekly or monthly that would be so cool.

Also, I hope it is the amount of zaps from single adresses that matters in the ranking, if it is the amount of sats the bigger wallet win the visibility race. What about having a standard zap price for everyone?

Thanks for detailed inputs. This is an idea goldmine.

* Regarding the bug about using in orion browser, I have logged an issue ( https://github.com/vivganes/zappedit/issues/4 ) and will find someone to work on it as I don't have an iOS or Mac setup. Any volunteers can take that too.

* Regarding the downzap sats, I envision a way where one could configure multiple npubs to receive the downzap sats and the system will decide randomly to whom a specific downzap sats are sent.

* I just did a quick correction of the logo based on your inputs, with whatever I could control using canva. Is this close to what you were talking about 👇 ?

* Regarding the ranking, I do not want to tinker with the ranking (yet). I would like for the reverse chronological order to be intact for the foreseeable future.

* Your point about integrating with different systems to decide the downzap recipients and amounts is very useful. Will do some research and see what I can implement.

Got it, I think.

The up zap and down zap will not drive an algorithm, they simply act as a ‘users opinion’ on a reverse chronological feed. So, what is the added value of the down zap? On a standard social client you already have the zap, the repost and the like who act as signs of « up zap ». Does the down zap only offer a way of expressing negative feelings towards content without having to take the time to voice them with words all this simply by zapping adresses we get to decide? Angry zapsturbators are going to love it 🤣🤣🤣

I like Reddit original idea, you read it, you share it, people used upvotes and downvotes to control the visibility, then everything got out of hand… I am tagging #[5] because he’s working on the Reddit like expérience if I understand. (Or at least the use of moderated moderators)

The way it is now on most clients, I can not count on reposts by my tribe to show me what I have missed while afk. I would love some way to see what I have missed ( and that was deemed worthy of attention by my tribe or network) without having to browse back 12 or 24 hours or more…

I was hoping the down zap would add an extra data channel to guide an algorithm. Not going to lie, I love browsing Reddit looking at controversial posts…

I had something like this in mind. Then play with overlap and aspect ratio. But see what I mean for the gap? It’s just too big of a gap as is

In that direction. I had used the ⚡️emoji as reference for the gap, drew the left side of the zap on the right using that, then deleted it.

Font is too Reddit don’t you think?

Colors are a tad too dark imo
