My dad own bitcoin.

Talking of bitcoin with him is always painful.

- we need to keep cash!

- bitcoin is cash!

- they're going to block it!

- they can't, look, I'm going to send money to this random person on this weird social media, this, this transaction, no one can stop it.

- if they can block your credit card... they can block this

- No! That's the point they can't

- yeah, well, we'll see.

- they control the value of your cash anyway

- they can't track it like they can know to which address you sent your money

😫😫😫😫

I can't convince a boomer that bitcoin can't be blocked or control.

Remember, Boomers generally believe all the world’s problems are solved via institutional authority (not tools and protocols).

Got a problem with how something is done? Vote for the guy who promises alternatives …

Consider the way someone is treating you unjust? Take them to court …

Unhappy with your overall society’s corruption and injustice etc.? Join a protest with other Hippies/Hipsters to camp out outside of office towers and chant and sing songs, etc. and hope that the people with power will listen to you :p

To them, the only ones who can STOP things, or FIX bad things, are organized groups of people. It hardly EVER occurs to them that we can just create tools / technological systems that make it IMPOSSIBLE for the bad thing to happen in the first place.

In their world, everything is arbitrary and reversible. They cannot imagine a system governed by “rules and not rulers”
