That's the conundrum with electric vehicles. We lack the infrastructure that is needed to scale the EV market share. One of the many things Elon has under-delivered. If we consider that his goal was to lead to mass adoption of EVs and that at the moment Tesla is a boutique auto manufacturer for wealthy clients... Personally I believe that if he was genuine he'd invest much more time and energy into making the transition between the two energy models. But I don't think he was genuine.
