I prefer the term friendly acquaintances. I reserve the term friend to specific people and circumstances.
Yeah, that makes sense.
I'd kinda like some better words for the different stages of friendships. With romantic relationships, there's interested, dating, in a relationship, engaged, and married.
I can only think of acquaintance, friend and best friend right now, but I'd like some more.
