That's how I think it will play out. Trump supporters are solid and won't switch. Most Biden voters will just be voting for not Trump. If you offer them a much better "not Trump" alternative many will consider it. Kennedy is going to set records in modern American politics as an independent but in the end it will just result in Biden losing to Trump by double digits.
