TORRENT made CD obsolete, centralized streaming platforms was just an answer....
₿ut where torrent has failed, NOSTR will succede.
Mechanical royalties still persist to this day too, trust me i know, i worked at a record label.
Technically with CDs you don’t actually own the music, that would be the publishing rights. When you buy a CD all you own is a copy of a recording of a performance of that music. With streaming you technically own the same thing just presented in a different format. The benefit of streaming is you don’t have to worry about losing it getting it scratched!😂
