I'm building coop for this
Nice! I'm not sure how you'll eventually make coop look in the end, but so far all of these nostr chat apps, even the most advanced ones so far, are telegram alternatives, not discord alternatives.
I'm hoping for one day to have a nostr version of discord, where the key elements (aside from voice, let's exclude that for now) is: a space (server) that can be created by a user, where they can create different text channels and place them under different categories, with the ability to easily move from one space (server) to another.
That's basically the core of what makes discord discord. The minimum to be a discord alternative.
(This might need a new NIP, not sure).
Of course, after that, there are roles and permissions, voice chat, video chat, streaming, etc.
I only focus on NIP-17 for now, which include direct and group dm. when everything is stable I will move on next step.
You know what’s funny? For the way Discord is used today, it would actually need to be decentralized, since so many people use it as an archive or wiki. I swear, right now Discord is hanging by a thin thread from causing one of the biggest media losses ever, right up there with YouTube
That, and I've also been thinking about that for internet archive. Considering they also censor, it's a given to nostr the shit out of it too x3
