So it turns out a lot of my issues with Unraid was just a slowly dying motherboard.

I got a new one after mine burnt up on monday, and it runs so much better. No hang-ups, and it stopped ignoring my shutdown requests.

I need to chuck this mobo now... It's a little stinky.
