Right now I have two wallets. WoS and Muun. How many do you use/have? What are the use cases for having multiple?
Discussion
I have those two, plus a cold wallet. WoS for zapping money, Muun for lightning <-> BTC, and the cold wallet for long term storage.
Nice! My next step is buying a cold wallet. Do you recommend any?
Consensus seems to be a Coldcard.
I am currently using a Ledger Nano X, due to it being free. My boss wants to use one, so he bought 2 and I am teaching him how to use it. Eventually I will upgrade to the Coldcard, as I use only bitcoin.
Blockstream Jade seams to be very promising. Just ordered one waiting for it to arrive soon ๐๐ค
Will add that to my research list!
I recently listened to a very in depth podcast about hardware wallets. I think there were people from coinkite, ledger and blockstream present and they discussed the different trade offs very in depth. I think it was this:

Muun / Zeus + Alby / Zeus + LN.tips
Muun = self-custodial and open source.
The Zeus one are the one I use here with small amounts
Zeus + Alby = fully open source instead of using WoS
Zeus + LN.tips = I created it just to try for pure fun ๐
Nice! I need to check out Zeus + Alby.
I have that setup too. The problem I had with Zeus+Alby is that I did not get any feedback on Damus when zapped.
When the new version is available on the App Store, this issue will go away, hopefully, as Damus will have its own zap notification system.
Different wallets give you different levels of control.
Think of WoS as the lowest level of control. You donโt actually own that balance, and if their service goes down thereโs nothing you can do.
Other lightning wallets give you the ability to connect to your own node, open and close channels.
Similarly, base chain wallets like Sparrow or Nunchuk or Blue Wallet allow you to connect to your own node, spend specific โcoinsโ (UTXOs), enter into CoinJoins for privacy, create multi signature setups etc
