CONTINUATION OF SCIENCE FICTION NOVEL
The stack of papers landed on the table with a loud and definitive thump.
It was at least five inches thick.
“Reports of the unexplained deaths,” said the reporter, who was “I’ve been scouring the obituaries and these are all of the instances where they died suddenly, with no apparent previous symptoms. “
“heart attack, stroke, circulatory blockages, aneurysm, the list goes on….”
“Well if its a pathogenic parasitic invader species and its taken the time to terraform our entire planet and cultivate humans as its host, why would it go around killing its host?” said the specialist in infectious disease.
All faces swung around to face him intently.
“Most pathogenic invaders,” he continued without any politeness “Who are successful” he emphasized” Do not kill their hosts. Think of the common cold”
“The coronavirus.”
“Yes!! But I am talking about the ORIGINAL coronavirus, not the genetically modified augmented version we’ve been dealing with since 19”. “That original common cold virus has been so successful at remaining in existence, and please notice I did not say “staying alive”, because it is not technically alive according to our scientific definition of life, but its success can be directly attributed to its tendency NOT to kill its host. It keeps its host alive, and moves through the population in waves, never being resolved and ever changing shifting and updating so the human immune system has to fight it out over an over.”
“But this is different.”
“yes! It appears that we have a pathogen that takes great effort to install itself in the host, even to the point of being able to become a type of “puppeteer” of their limbs an heavily influence their mind, speech patterns, thought patterns, vision, body processes, so much is invested in the cultivation of the host, and then,” he made the slicing motion across his neck” A sudden and untimely death. It doesn’t make sense and kept me up at night wondering about the reasoning behind this, because I must presume intelligence in its behavioral motivation. “
“Until you consulted with clergy.”
“Well, you know I am not a fan of organized religion, but as a scientist I have to turn over every rock…”
“You don’t even believe in afterlife!”
“I know, but i’ve read so many reports of NDE’s and other experiences of afterlife communication that i’ve had to take that into account as a possible variable, even if I’m skeptical of it. I say this because it adds a lot of validity to my sudden insight: although I’m still not even sold on the idea of afterlife as existential place, as opposed to a projected psychological and neurological experience, I think the pathogens are killing their host in order to “harvest” them into a type of afterlife existence.”
Their faces froze. A chill swept through the room , unrelated to the waves of 5G frequency assault that also sometimes caused them cold chills and a sense of foreboding.
“You think they’re killing high school athletes, and dancers, and otherwise healthy people, intentionally, in order to bring them into an afterlife? “
“Yes. Or more accurately, I feel the true motivation of the pathogen is not superiority in this world, of biological living creatures; its not motivated to become supreme here, in our world, by taking over walking talking human bodies and then taking over human society. I think it does not prioritize this world at all. But I do think it prioritizes the world of pure thought and cognitive events, which is more like a dream construct. “
“Do you think they’re bringing these human consciousnesses into an actual afterlife realm, like Heaven or Hell?”
“No, I think that those human afterlife experiences predate the invasion by these pathogens by millennia, and have been a part of human afterlife experience for a long time. I think this is new, a sub realm, that they created and control.”
“a virtual reality????”
“yes, my gamer friend, thank you for your perspective and I’m glad that’s why you’re on this team. A technology based “soul prison”, or place where the dead persons consciousness is shunted as opposed to going on its unimpeded journey into the realm of the dead.”
“wow, that conversation with the priest must have really affected you”
“Again, I’m a true scientist, I imagine all variables and scenarios, and try not to be presumptive, and this is one explanation for this behavior that makes sense to me and fills in the gaps as to why they would be motivated to do what they do. And once you can comprehend their motivation objectives and goals, you can then develop a battle plan against them.”
“So you think they want humans to die, but not in a traditional sense, and not randomly.”
“I think if they simply wanted wholesale death and destruction we would have had that already. If it would have achieved their objectives to just incinerate our planet outright, they would have done so.” He looked at them pointedly. “I think we are in a war and they are taking prisoners.”
