Did you have the "privet" option selected? I know not every client n stuff supports that option yet

Maybe the other person's client doesn't support it

Also make sure your dm relays are selected, there is a few that are free that amethyst let's you know about.

Oxchat is a messenger style client focust mostly on dms and chats.
