I think there's reasons for both. But we don't even have the basics. Normal Bitcoin support should be a baseline.

I've been saying this since day 1. It is entirely absurd that that nostr clients do not support normal Bitcoin.

Nostr is barely, or not growing. Devs have limited resources. Are 10-60 minute payments what increases interest and retention in nostr, or is it something else?

Iiuc, the OP means abstracting away the concept of Lightning, not Lightning itself. Lightning is "normal Bitcoin".

If "normal Bitcoin" means L1 on-chain Bitcoin to you: it's not worth it (too slow and *way* to expensive).
