At first I really liked this sentiment... but then I thought about language as art (i.e. poetry, storytelling, etc).

I think, rather than expressing things we don't have words for, art leads the audience to feel something without the need for explicit explanation.

Leading an audience to feel a thing, without lecturing as to what they should feel, has a longer lasting impression on them.

In this way art is more useful than explanation.
