Did you tell him to make sure to set it to receive payments as bitcoin? It used to default to cash. Not sure if they’ve changed the default.

I did not, but I saw that you all were awesome and he had roughly see end him $21 more in USD almost up to 300K sats in tips I've sent him over the last year.
