Russians report that the Ukrainian Defense Forces have struck the Sudzha gas metering station and a gas pipeline on the border of Russia’s Kursk region and Ukraine’s Sumy region, which carried Russian gas to Europe.

The Sudzha Gas Metering Station in the Kursk Oblast of Western Russia is burning tonight, following several explosions earlier near the border between Russia’s Kursk Region and Ukraine’s Sumy Region. This pipeline operates as the sole transit method for natural gas produced at refineries in Russia to reach countries in Europe. Russian state channels are of course blaming Ukraine for the explosions and resulting fires, but so far there has been no claim of responsibility from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Main Intelligence Directorate or any other group under the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
