Any thoughts on how to best contribute to the network (eg mining versus running a node)? I listened to Bob Burnett on the bitcoin matrix. He really makes a good case for finding ways to protect mining by either doing it on your own or investing in small companies. I’m not technical but can learn if I get enough instructions. For example, I could probably make the S9 miner work as a space heater by using the BTC session’s instructions but I’ve got to have that help. My basic goal is how can I (as a non-engineer or computer programmer) help protect Bitcoin? I don’t care about making money (I can do that with my day job).

Mining isn't too difficult. I mine at home with 3 really old machines, the S9s like you mentioned. And I use them to heat my house in the winter. I didn't build a space heater out of them like the video you mentioned. Mine just sit in the corner of different rooms on the floor naked for everyone to see. I've done this for 3 winters now.

Thank you! I’ll be brave!

Facts, my third S9 is on the way. Super easy setup…. Just bought a 3d printer to attempt some upgrades. I’ll print during the summer and heat in the winter. Turns out 3d printing relatively easy as well.
