I like the free market aspect of Nostr relays.
-Any given relay is likely to eventually purge, and thus render notes ephemeral. Not necessarily a bad thing.
-People can pay relays for assurances of more longevity for notes. There is some counterparty risk but otherwise that’s all good too. Counterparty risk can be spread out if someone is willing to pay more for duplication.
-People can go through the time and expense of running their own relay.

Mostly it’s pretty dumb and will not last. People mistake fiatjaf’s saltiness for smarts. Whereas relays and nsecs are a product of a weak mind amid low IQ density in this space.

Absolutely. Everyone who wants to have their notes stored forever should either pay for the service or run their own relay. As simple as that.
And if better, customers could send a timestamp on each note 🗒️ so that it is automatically deleted in the relay when their time expires. And that it is configurable by the user that time.?

I rather like the other way around, where any douchebaggery remains visible to the world and accountability/responsibility reigns.
