It wouldn’t be a choice. Technology rarely is. Only option we have is to delay it for a while.
That's my point.
Tech will move forward.
We need new forms of energy and tech.
Once we achieve (ago) artificial general intelligence we may be able to prevent our own extinction if we can integrate with it.
This would look like genetic and mechanical augmentation and seemless interaction with an agi.
This would be a third layer of conciseness.
