Material is so thin.

I once had a pair of quite expensive 14oz Selvedge jeans, awful. The material was so stuff that it wore away and the creases and they just fell apart after 18 months. Never again

Pierre Cardin, in this case. 4 pairs and all ripped in the back seam. Paper-thin.

One thing you can do is to prefer a ripstop fabric when available

It's all so stretchy. Hard to patch.
