Two normies I told about Signal actually installed it since my last note saying I was moving on from trying to sell it to people.

Maybe there is hope after all. Just took a year to get two wins.

This actually taught me a lesson.

Building a reputation and trust takes time. Most people aren't just going to do what you say they should do, even if you're right.

People need time to build trust and respect. I think it's a net good when people are this way. We shouldn't give our trust and respect out for free.

A sub lesson is that I should probably scale my education on security and technology. Talking to people in real life is great, but I've been an early adopter of these tools for about 15 years and have learned a ton in that time. I could serve more people by leveraging technology.

Anyway, keep working at whatever you're struggling with and want to give up on. You're probably giving up right when you're about to see some success.

Stay proud and stack sats.

Keet.io might be a better choice than signal now. There is no server or middle man holding your data under that platform. Or maybe I’m not seeing a trade off here?

keet is closed source proprietary.

signal uses google services.

I prefer simplex messenger no identifiers, fully open source.
