Mine was wonky and gets wonky every now and then. Check f droid or wherever you got it for an update. Mines fine again.

Np. Another idea is if you're using a VPN app that has adblocking.
AHHHHH, I KNOW MY VPN CAUSED AN ISSUE BEFORE, I WILL KEEP THAT IN MIND (ALTHOUGH THIS PIPEPIPE FORK IS WORKING GREAT ON VPN)

Fyi export settings and data from newpipe appears to import to pipe pipe just fine.
