He’s got a shitton of normie-pilled replies on Xitter, the kind you just don’t see on #nostr.

I’m wondering how much of that is a function of his larger following there and how much is just the difference in how people engage here.

Xitter seems to be perfect for people to misinterpret meaning and twist words but people don’t get away with that here.

We're all susceptible to the ego games that go on over there.

I'm convinced many of the reply guys are just bots. The rest are just deeply confused & scared by everything.

Dead bird doesn't lend itself to having discussions & expanding our own understanding. It's purely an attention trap.

I know it’s “cool” to be constrained by the character limit, it’s supposed to force people to sharpen up their points and yada yada.

But in reality humans don’t think in soundbytes, it’s the same reason longform podcasting continues to grow whilst cable news dies - conveying complex ideas with background and overlap isn’t possible in shortform and clearly it’s not what people want.

Xitter only allowing longform behind the bluecheck is going to be a big part of its demise. Short-form is 20 years out of date.

Give me a well reasoned and thought out text wall over snot-nosed short paragraph reply guys any day!
