My guesses are either it's a bug/issue they need to work through, or they're working on some paid/subscription features and fucked up their deployment somehow.

Look how broken it is. Maybe it unbreaks if you pay for it?? Try and tell us how it went, maybe just zap them only enough for a daily subscription, just to find out.
