The Mongolians drank blood from their horses to sustain themselves on long treks. Had the biggest (land mass) empire in history, so might be something to it.
Right . They also developed techniques to carry dried mares milk. Each warrior was able to carry several weeks worth of food . This gave them a great advantage over opponents.
