Should I watch it, or will it only make me upset?

It's mostly informative with some justifying it with “because of nazi we censor” approach and comparing to USA, mostly misguided from my point of view.

But it's not creazy statist propaganda.

Depends on what upsets you :)

As for me, about 19 minutes in, I’ve learnt that it is okay to prevent discussion of historical events, “SINCE DENYING HISTORICAL FACTS CANNOT BE CONSIDERED A PERSONAL OPINION.”

She conveniently forgets that historical facts are subject to new findings and discoveries just as any other facts, except in Germany, where you’ll go to prison for challenging any of them theoretically (but only a selected few in practice).

Also, you’re supposedly prevented from incitement to hatred in Germany. Inexplicably though, you can praise Stalin’s or Mao’s supposed achievements and you can build a monument to the greatest inciter of hatred ever, Karl Marx, yet that goes unpunished. You can wear T-shirts depicting mass murderers such as Guevara freely. You can proudly display the red ☆ or ☭ or call for the extermination of all Jews under the guise of freedom for Palestine with hardly any consequences. Make it make sense…

Other than that, it’s not a bad video actually, even if a bit too optimistic about free speech in Germany and Europe while being a bit condescending about the same in the U.S.

Thank you, this is a very nice summary. I honestly have problems with Holocaust deniers and I'm ready to report them (kind 1984 is here exactly for this reason), but I don't think that they should be silenced, especially not by government, state or other monopoly on violence. I will give it a try.

BTW it is always so funny how Germans and Austrians actually believe how advanced and superior they are. The naivity...

denying holocaust is stupid.

denying atrocities allies and the victors (including our little republic) did is equally stupid.

still, when I mention something along the lines how germans were unprecedentedly (both after 1st and 2nd great war) punished, I got that "you fucking nazi" look.

I guess I'm an overly sensitive snowflake, because I'm upset. She is reporting on the laws like there is no difference between illegal and immoral... The law is needed because someone was attacked and shot, like they didn't have laws against murdering people.

And the ambiguity. Don't let me start on that. The stupid slogan "From the river to the sea." may or may not be a illegal, it depends on who is saying it.
