It looks like such posts would show up as top-level posts in clients that have not implemented NIP 72, and even if they do implement NIP-72 it is unclear what they would do. So I don't think it achieves the same thing.

Having a relay-based community where the topic stays on the relay would, but I don't know if that's been NIPped either.

I don't agree with isolating on specific theme relays. Most people just use the default relays their client provides, but also it provides those specific relays with power, which goes against the principles behind Nostr.

If the largest Politics relay suddenly decides to ban people with a certain view, then that is real power they have since they control the largest Politics community.

The nip72 extension with community exclusive posts is better than topical relays because posts can be anywhere. I intent to create topics within each user. You can subscribe to the user OR to a community or that user: Vitor General or Vitor/Android. This allows technical discussions in communities and general posts in the main feed.

Nice would be to create sub accounts that all of your users automatically receive, and the users could actively unsubscribe to some of them I'd they don't like. But the default would be "subscribe/follow to all subaccounts of the original"

i was told by Satellite dev that next week it will be possible to post to Communities without the post appearing on the timeline ...
