the artists i know don't like paying for anything

Unfortunately, artists also need to do their part for a social media engagement point of view. Consistent art releases (what ever is reasonable). Engaging with user, doing live streams, etc.

The effort goes in first, then the users will reward them I think.

Out of anyone who actually produces content on nostr, you might be the only consistent one.

There is also a trend of valuing developers work more at this time of nostr’s life. Not sure how long this will last.

Consistency is key 💯

And it’s hard.

Definitely feels that way sometimes. It is work, and that is what differentiates the fly by night tourists and even the occasional hobbyists from professionals, in any field/endeavor.

I think that this is what most people don't understand or see the correlation.

💯

This is why social platforms pay creators so much in the first place. Elon recently posted that X is going to start to pay creators more than YouTube. Wild. They all know it drives users to the platforms. The difference is they’re doing it to sell advertising, and Nostr isn’t an ad-based network. Nostr has different incentives, but that doesn’t mean having active artists/creators won’t drive user growth here too.

I think that diVine is going to flip the script on a lot of this, meaning bringing some of the legacy creative process to Nostr.

It has ads?

No, at least not now, but creators that will join will want paid eventually. Creative thinking will have to come with that.

I think so too. I hope so. It seems like the kind of thing with potential to, at least. I’m tired of going around with the same debates and same pathetic arguments people give when this topic comes up. I think results will be the only thing that convinces people.

I've been told this whole time artists are cheap and want everything for free.

Lol. Who doesn’t like free things? But whether your vocation is artist or anything else, we all realize that paying for certain things makes us more efficient and effective at what we’re doing. “Fly by night” wannabes might want to freeload off everyone, but those who are serious about making a business out of their art will be willing to pay for things that help them toward that end.

This 👆🏽

I've also been told musicians are tech-tarded but it's just not true 😏

"I want to be alienated for my art" - nostr:npub1yvscx9vrmpcmwcmydrm8lauqdpngum4ne8xmkgc2d4rcaxrx7tkswdwzdu

It's true for me too though.

nostr:npub19ha7tju4teqp3dmwv4p28wrcy9zd6h6hxkg5mwvjrlfycweazpkse2q0fa and I were told several times that artists cant even afford a website to host their shit so...

I've been saying that for three years here, dammit.

Maybe if we say it one more time 🤝🤣

Preach it Corn 🌽 dalorian! 🧡👊🏼
