Japan's Prime Minister has declared that France is "gravely insulting Japan" through the actions of video game company Ubisoft. The company is accused of desecrating the Japanese imperial family.

Their latest video game rewrites history to feature a black samurai having sex with Oichi, an emblematic and revered figure in Japanese history.

No fewer than 18 emperors, including the current Emperor Naruhito, are direct descendants of the latter, amplifying the scope of the offense.
