On the one hand, hideous.

On the other, sounds worth a try.

Some great memories from when we used to combine Power Hour with Beer Club and called it:

5 Pack Beer Night.

Everyone opens a different beer and takes 1 shot of beer every minute on the minute, then pass the beer to your left.

When the first person finished that round of beers, everyone else had to finish theirs. This worked because the gross beers people would pour slightly less. If someone brought something truely hideous, there was sometimes 1/4 to 1/3 left. Kind of a musical chairs / hot potato vibe.

We drank 5 beers because that is a shot a minute for an hour (60oz / 60 minutes) and the remaining beer from every 6 pack went to the host.

Worked best when we had 6 - 8 people.
