I love that you are openly talking about this. Let's not forget that the US built up the Taliban's in the first place to fight against the Russians all those years ago. That and Afghanistan comes with opium, crude oil and natural gas. Another bit is the military weapon industry. US is the largest weapon manufacturer in the world. Boeing might have hit fame with commercial airlines but half its revenue is from missiles manufacturing etc. The Department of Defense (DoD) in 2021 contributed to 2.3 % of the country's GDP with contract over half a trillion dollars.
But more so, I was wondering what do families of US armies who died in the battle against Talibans feel now - they fought and died for a cause and not it feels like it was for nothing. Its so heartbreaking. War is a terrible thing
