What are these hell threads I've seen people posting about?

Large lists of people (sometimes 200+) tagged on a note, who then keep replying to that note blowing up everyone’s notifications

Ah I see. Sounds like a pain in the ass. I'm guessing it's a troll thing?

Not entirely- it was mostly due to a zapper bot that periodically zaps a group of people and tags them. The people tagged decided to have some fun with it. In a couple of other cases, it was definitely trolls
