According to the news reports, the hackers exploited a vulnerability in Alphapo's hot wallet to steal the funds. A hot wallet is a type of cryptocurrency wallet that is connected to the internet. This makes it more vulnerable to attack than a cold wallet, which is a type of wallet that is not connected to the internet.

The hackers were able to withdraw a total of 23 million USD worth of cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tether. Alphapo has said that they are working with law enforcement to investigate the hack and that they will be compensating the affected users.

This is not the first time that a cryptocurrency platform has been hacked. In 2014, Mt. Gox, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges at the time, was hacked and lost over 850,000 Bitcoin.

do you keep it on a hardware? Over the years, my thumb drive failed to work. I'm skeptical about those storage devices being reliable over time. What if you can't get into it?
