Yes because seizing your keys is the only way they can ruin your life. If the govt feels threatened by a movement, it will seek to destroy it in the most aggressive ways. If they seized your family, you're going to think long and hard about how much those keys are really worth. I can't believe 6,000 years into this people still haven't learned.

I seems to me Saylor is trying to reassure institutional investors that there are solutions that minimize the threat to the govt. He isn't telling you to give up your keys.

If 20,000,000 armed people people hold keys, what will they do? That's the point of encouraging self custody, not demonizing it

'In the battle for the future money those who have the money will win', or something like that. Might be and but such is the reality.

Well, first, they scare the shit out of enough of them with lawfare that 10,000,000 voluntarily cooperate and force the rest to look over their shoulders everywhere they go. Then, for those who have businesses, they arrest the business owners for violating obscure laws. Then they pay home visits for various unrelated reasons just to let you know you are on a list. Then, they do a gun confiscating program. Then they come get your family because that'swhat breaks you.

In the end they don't ruin you because you have bitcoin. They ruin you because you are a "subversive". Solzhenitsyn covered this sort of thing in Gulag Archipelago.
