politics aside, people have worn masks for decades in asia. it's better for your health in crowded areas with lots of car exhaust. it's also a courtesy to not make other people sick if you have a cold and to not get sick in crowds of people. doctors do the same for the same reason, especially in operating rooms.

afaic, i don't want your covid or your cold. wear a fucking mask if you're going in public. have some respect for others.

that said, there are some *bonus* reasons to wear a mask, especially now since it's commonplace. a principle one is to protect your privacy from facial scanning (biometric surveillance) cameras in parking lots, stores, public areas, protests etc.

Exactly.

In Netherlands during Covid the real gasmasks were forbidden in public transportation.

The paper mask were obligatory.

Questions?

Did you see the Chinese already bypassed anti-facial rec through masks? 🫣 iirc they were using people's gait, their unique style of walking, to identify them 😱

yes. it's a small step in a wholistic approach for sure.

i loved wearing a mask when in public. I'd wear a hat, mask, airpods. that way no one would recognize me or try to speak to me.

I definitely wear a mask in the gym when I’m breathing heavily or people are near me doing the same. I just don’t want any kind of illness. I’d say 65% of the people mask in the gym I go to
