So, nostr:npub12r0yjt8723ey2r035qtklhmdj90f0j6an7xnan8005jl7z5gw80qat9qrx and I were doing that brainstorming thing on nests last night like we do. The idea of QRs that are easy for normies to zap folks without a complicated onboarding experience came up. Tons of applications, sports, events, tipping servers, etc. We both had similar ideas, and ended up coming up with slightly different approaches. Then it meshed. He worked up a slick little basic QR generator for lightning transactions, and I tossed up a little webscript with Sam's nostr-zap javascript for a simple zapping experience without involving clients. I fucked around and made the QR generator work to create npub based QRs that use the webscript with needing a database or hosting a link for every user. Cleaned it up a bit last night, added a snort link. Eventually I'll pretty it up and add some onboarding resources too, but give it a try! I think I can work this concept into other ideas I played with in my pre-nostr days, but as an easy QR/link based onboarding for folks.

Just drop in your npub and it generated a sharable QR and link to zap you and find you on Nostr.

How do you scan a qr code in a saved image? Pretty sure I've done this before but can't seem to work it out. Thought I did it with Google lens πŸ€”

On a single device that's wonky, now I gotta go fuck around and try πŸ€”

It should display the link below it you can drop in a browser, but let me see if there's a Googlephone way to scan cameraless

A qr code is just text so having the plain text below the qr for easy selecting and copying is a good idea. And /or a button that when you tap it (or the qr) copies to clipboard.

So, oddly enough lense and Google image search don't seem to decode QRs, just finds other QRs. Way to go Google.

But, https://products.aspose.app/barcode/recognize/qr does decode the downloaded QR image when I generate it on my phone.
