Part of prevention is avoiding seed oils and inflammatory foods.
Ease into it and don’t get discouraged. Excess linoleic acid has a half life of about a year in the body. May take years to sufficiently detox to the point where you don’t burn much, if at all, anymore. 
Expose yourself to morning sun as much as possible, before the UV index gets high
Tree produced shade is your friend. Morning sun &/ red/nir light exposure before and after midday sun exposure. Aloe + diluted MB if you do burn.
