I'm driven nuts by many weird things. I've made progress over the years, but it's challenging.
The wristbands with long tails you see at conferences drive me nuts. I get chills thinking about having that thing on me. I can hardly watch other people move around with them on. I would cut it or take it off. I can adjust. (There's a 99.9% chance it would end up in my pocket).
This trait has obvious downsides, but I'm cautious when trying to change it too much because it serves me well in my work. I'm excellent at what I do because of how attentive I am to precision. Some imperfections are too much to bear and my patients benefit. Sometimes it hinders me and I have to practice letting go. Otherwise, I'd have a new truck every time a squeak developed. The other day I allowed one tire to have 32 PSI while the others were at 33. Progress? 😂
