What about a feature allowing users to set a price for comments if they wish. It would be helpful for users like you with a lot of followers. Depending on your follower count, set a sufficiently high enough cost to comment and only people who believe they have something truly important to add to the conversation would comment.

It would cut down on most of the low value/low information comments and let you engage with meaningful comments.
