I wonder if having a hard, global currency will speed up economic migration or slow it down?

I suspect, the latter.

Why will a common currency have any effect on migration? 🤔

Migration happens because of economic opportunities

It will bring economic opportunities where you are

Because people will invest in your country?

That can be one factor, but think about the community level. Hard money makes the entrance of someone in a market much cheaper and the maintenance of big players like amazon for example much more expensive.

Also, because the new, hard money is digital, people can invest in one person far away.

True very good point, one can receive micro(and not only) payments from anyone in the world.

It will make life better where you already are, but also more freedom to move if you want it.

Yeah, but I'm thinking that the people who are most eager and able to move (because they have skills they can market well outside of their current region), will benefit disproportionately from a harder currency.

They could earn hard money in a place where the cost of living is low, and it would take a while for living costs to balance out.

Crypto can be the only global currency

The BRICS countries are making a Blockchain for "dollar-less" trade

I think Egypt has also joined BRICS

It depends on who regulates it...
