I don't think yous should be drinking coffee on a schedule.

It's fine, my doctor prescribed me one cup of coffee every four hours.

I can actually confirm this. If you drink coffee too early the caffeine shots from the last day may not be fully digested yet, this makes your body more tolerant to caffeine resulting in the "afternoon crash" later on.

Can also confirm, but with caffeinated tea (green tea specifically).

You're actually dehydrated when you wake up, and it's better to have coffee or tea about an hour after waking up fully.
