Avoid diseases. shit sticks to everything and is a bitch to clean off. Dog shit often smells bad. I certainly dont want it in my garden or on my lawn that i enjoy barefoot. If we are not at home , it is shitty to leave piles of feces out in the neighbourhood that other dogs or children might be curious about. Uhhh it is basically toxic and not good to mix with home compost. Gross. Unless i am really out in nature like in a uninhabited area, pick that shit up and dispose like a considerate human. It is not helpful for plant life. As much as i can, i pick up with paper towel so i dont add extra plastic. Not picking up dog shit in an effort to help the environment is misguided
