Transcribro is so cool. It's early (0.2.1) so expect some beta issues, I've been testing it out, and it's kinda awesome. Check it out 🤙

Transcribro is a private and on-device speech recognition keyboard and service for Android.

It uses whisper(.)cpp to run the OpenAI Whisper family of models and Silero VAD for voice activity detection.

It features a voice input keyboard, enabling you to type with speech.

It can also be used by other apps either explicitly or when set as the user-selected speech to text app which some apps may use for speech to text.

Get it on #Accrescent for unattended updates (Recommended). Verify hash with #AppVerifier app or by following the instructions on GitHub.

Transcribro privacy policy

Transcribro is a private and on-device speech recognition keyboard and service for Android.

Transcribro requires access to your microphone to work.

Transcribro uses your microphone to try to transcribe speech to text. Transcriptions may be inaccurate and can be quite wrong in some circumstances. Please ensure they are accurate before using them.

Transcribro will not send the raw microphone data (not the transcriptions, just the audio from the microphone) anywhere, it will stay on your device and will only be kept long enough to transcribe it to text and assist with that task.

Transcriptions may be sent to other apps if other apps use Transcribro to transcribe audio (those apps will require the microphone permission to use Transcribro to transcribe audio from the microphone in real-time) or when using the Transcribro Voice Input keyboard (expanded on below), but otherwise will not be sent anywhere else and will stay on your device.

When using the Transcribro Voice Input keyboard, audio from the microphone will be transcribed and pasted into the currently active text box. This means the app you are on will see the transcriptions Transcribro pastes into its text box, just like using a keyboard to manually type out what you want to say.
