we, in Alberta have a growing movement to become a state. It probably won't happen. our premier (governor sorta) has been passing laws to protect our resources etc. against the Federal Government. we have a history going back at least to Justin Trudeau's father (P. E. Trudeau) of Federal overreach affecting us negatively. in the 1980s, he hosed our economy in Alberta with the NEP (National Energy Program).
